Job description
We are a local branch of a national, non-profit career guidance and research organization. We have a full-time job opening for a professional, degreed candidate to begin immediately.
We are looking for intellectually curious individuals to administer and interpret aptitude tests to people seeking understanding of personal abilities as an aid in career or educational planning. We enjoy being informed about the world of work and its many opportunities. Though we are not psychologists, this could be a fulfilling position for someone who is interested in psychology, sociology, anthropology or the social sciences in general. It combines elements of counseling and consulting with test administration to help others learn more about themselves. This position is a combination of clerical, test administration, results analysis, counseling/consulting work, and general office management.
Applicant must:
- possess a Bachelor's degree (no required major, but psychology, sociology, liberal arts, or communication may be a good fit)
- have excellent skills in communicating detailed information to clients
- enjoy working with people on an individual basis in a professional setting
- handle a high volume of paperwork quickly and accurately, and be able to perform general office tasks such as answering phones, scoring papers, and scheduling appointments.
We provide full training on the specifics of our testing program and its administration.
The ideal candidate should:
- have some full-time work experience
- derive satisfaction from helping people better understand themselves
- have an interest in learning how natural abilities relate to college and career planning
- enjoy working independently and as a member of a small team
The starting salary is $52,500. We offer paid vacation, sick days, and generous full benefits (health/dental/vision insurance and a 403b retirement plan). We are located in the Greater Heights area.
No sales or solicitation is involved with this position. Our clients come to us usually by word-of-mouth referrals because they want to learn more about themselves in order to find rewarding work. Our clients are high school/college students and adults looking for career and educational advice.
You can find more information about the Foundation and aptitude testing on our website: www.jocrf.org.
If this job sounds like something you’d love to do every day, we definitely want to hear from you!
