Your Role
  • A Team Leader is a sales associate who has the added responsibility of successfully maintaining their assigned department while ensuring legendary customer service and contributing to the store’s overall profitability.
  • Promote Ace Rewards and other customer engagement programs
  • Serve Customers in assigned departments, or storewide, and provide needed advice or information, greet customers as soon as you encounter them
  • Demonstrate the S.A.L.E.S. skills/behaviors and teach and encourage others to do the same
  • Assist customers with large or heavy items as needed and offer a red basket for their shopping use
  • Maintain awareness of all promotions and sales flyers; assist in removal of promotional bin tags from displays and price tags as required following sales events, flyers, etc.. and maintain knowledge of store products, services and layout
  • Handle special orders for all non-stock items or involve a member of management
  • Help unload incoming trucks, put away merchandise, and maintain (clean, organize and stock) for assigned department, category or zone as assigned
  • Actively participate in daily huddle meetings, share ideas for improvement with management and co-workers
  • Assist in following loss prevention (shoplifting) best practices by being attentive to customers and monitors their actions, and reporting suspected or actual theft immediately to management team
  • Take ownership of inventory control in your department by managing inventory shortages, surplus stock, defectives, damages, etc. through collaboration with other appropriate teams
  • Restock merchandise displays as needed, monitor end caps and side wings for adequate stock
  • Maintain a safety awareness at all times including fire exits and procedures, OSHA Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

About You
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years directly related and progressively responsible experience in one or more retail areas; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members
  • Ability to effectively use assigned equipment and technology including two-way radio, computer, etc.
  • Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service
  • Ability to demonstrate and execute on the the S.A.L.E.S. skills and the Magic Question
  • Strong organizational skills with a passion for details
