About us

Higher Horizons is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1962. We operate Head Start, Early Head Start and Home-Based programs for 300 children and families in central Fairfax County, Virginia.

Higher Horizons Early Head Start Program is seeking experienced Infant/Toddler Teachers to implement an established curriculum, develop lesson plans, and conduct child observations. Provides quality care and supervision for a class of eight infants and toddlers, along with a Co-Teacher. Candidates will maintain a warm, inviting learning environment for children aged from 6 weeks to 2.9 years of age, incorporating age-appropriate activities to meet individual needs, Virginia Child Care Licensing Regulations and Head Start Program Performance Standards. Teachers in each classroom work closely with each other and in conjunction with other staff to facilitate the learning process for infants and toddlers in their care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.41 - $19.92 per hour

Experience:

• Infant/Toddler classroom: 1 year (Required)

Language:

• Spanish, Amharic or Arabic (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BA or AA in ECE or related field or valid Infant/Toddler CDA (Required)
