Summary

St. Matthew?s Episcopal Church Preschool is a South Carolina licensed facility teaching and caring for children 18 months through age five. We participate in the Quality Counts rating system. We are now accepting resumes for Teacher Assistants who will be excited to participate in a faith-based, child development program! Opportunities exist in our 2's, 3's and 4's classes.

The responsibilities include providing a safe, clean and nurturing environment, teaching and caring for children with a strong understanding of the developmental stages of preschool aged children. All applicants will engage and interact with individual children as well as small groups, in age appropriate center activities and play-based learning.

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children, in play based learning centers.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.

Requirements

• A MUST: Minimum of 6 months experience working in a licensed child care center.
• High school diploma or greater.
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.
• An understanding of child development.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
• Must be able and willing to take frequent walks, engage in outdoor activity, use hands, fingers and handle objects, to talk clearly and hear voices at different levels.
• Must be able to kneel, bend ,squat in the classroom and playground environment.
• Vision ability will include seeing up close and distances, to have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  

Nice To Haves

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• 1 year or more of experience working in a licensed child care center.
• ECD 101 and additional Early Care and Education course work.
