Tasting Room Manager


Old Farm Winery at Hartland is seeking a motivated, organized and experienced professional to lead and supervise all aspects of the Tasting Room and Event Venue operations. This includes building brand awareness, exceeding guest expectations by leading department heads to develop and enhance sales, service and guest experience.


Key Responsibilities

Direct and oversee all aspects of venue operations including public and private events and day-to-day retail operations in line with the organization’s sales goals and marketing initiatives through effective leadership and communication.


Primary Relationships

The Tasting Room Manager will report to the General Manager of Hospitality and will be the direct supervisor of all associates and assistant managers. The Tasting Room Manager will also work closely with the Events & Sales Manager to collaborate on various projects and events.


Job Duties:

  • Create a positive, respectful and professional work environment by demonstrating leadership and setting an example in hospitality, work ethic, and integrity, consistent with the organization’s values.
  • Direct and oversee initial and ongoing standard operating procedures related to retail and event operations. Identifying and suggesting improvements to maximize efficiencies.
  • Assists President and General Manager in developing quarterly and annual budgets for departments of responsibility within the organization.
  • Responsible for overseeing wine production compliance items in adherence with state and federal regulations.
  • Partner with event coordination team ensuring prompt and professional correspondence with vendors and clients during the planning process.
  • Oversee retail operations to ensure adherence to organization’s standard operating procedures related to onboarding and training of personnel, inventory management, and increasing sales and wine club growth.


Required

  • At least 3 years of high-volume hospitality and/or event management experience
  • Highly motivated, independent self-starter
  • Outstanding verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong financial literacy and data analysis skills
  • Excellent understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

Job Type: Full time, salaried

Schedule: 40-50 hours per week depending on event schedule, some holidays, weekends, and nights required.

Compensation: Annual salary plus benefits package including 401K Plan, PTO, Health Insurance
