Job Description:
The Talent and Development Specialist supports YFA’s organization initiatives through the design, development and successful implementation of talent and learning solutions for current and future leaders of the organization, in alignment with strategic initiatives. This position will also support the recruitment and talent acquisition in sourcing the best talent for YFA, as well as maintaining effective programs for retention, promotion, and succession planning.
Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Talent:
- Collaborate across YFA organization to provide professional expertise and support in the design, development, and implementation of standard talent management practices across all YFA programs to achieve business goals and results in the retention and creation of an internal bench of top talent.
- Develop and facilitate talent management through assessments, and leadership development programs to strengthen YFA’s internal talent pipeline.
- Develop, initiate, and maintain effective programs and processes for workforce retention, promotion, and succession planning; evaluate the effectiveness of these programs to identify areas for process improvement, corrective actions, or discontinuation.
- Manage the maintenance and execution of the YFA performance management system, including current job descriptions, standards of performance and performance evaluation instruments.
Leadership Development:
- Collaborate across YFA organization to provide professional expertise and support in the design, development, and implementation of guiding principles and standards for leadership development practices across all programs.
- Develop and implement leadership programs, ongoing trainings, workshops etc. to promote leadership development, career advancement and succession planning across the organization; ensuring programs focus on enabling the workforce to achieve improvements aligned with YFA priorities and organizational concerns.
- Develop and implement mentoring programs for YFA new hires and newly promoted supervisors that are program specific.
- Consult with YFA leaders to develop programs and provide information designed to enhance employee engagement, team building foundations, and cultural change initiatives.
- Design, plan, coordinate, and participate in the development and delivery of training and modify existing offerings to improve alignment with organizational and talent needs.
- Maintains accurate and real-time records for audits and relicensures.
- Maintain ownership of all data and assessment tools related to training and development of employees.
- Conduct presentations and training as needed to support the goals as defined herewith in.
Recruitment:
- Develop and implement sustainable solutions and processes to support the professionalization of the recruitment process.
- Serve as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies that result in client satisfaction. Develop effective relationships within the organization and the hiring community to have influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring.
- Provide data regarding talent and retention improvement initiatives related to marketing efforts, referrals, sign-on bonuses, and other recruitment activities.
- Support targeted recruitment through various platforms utilizing data-driven methods to measure its success.
- Work closely with hiring managers and recruiting team collect and coordinate aggregate data for talent pool and translate those data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans at the appropriate levels.
- Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; minimum 3-5 years of related experience in talent development, presenting and facilitating talent management, and leadership development programs or related experience.
Physical Requirements: Ability to bend; stand; lift and carry 25 pounds.
