Aspirus is currently seeking a SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to work at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital.

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. Promotes education of self, peers and students. Collaborates with all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Responsible for his/her activities that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, or result in an effect or consequence to or with other practitioners in the surgical environment.

Hours: This position is Full Time; 0.9 FTE or 72 hours per pay period. Day/PM shifts: Varying start times, typically day shift and into early PM. Holidays: call approximately every 4th. On-call rotation: approximately every 4th weekend, plus call during the week.

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a surgical technologist program or related field and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room.
• Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program beneficial.
• One-year acute care surgical experience beneficial.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist beneficial.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
