Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Support Service Worker for the Murray Developmental Center located in Centralia, Illinois to assists with the preparation of food items and serves prepared food to the individuals. Performs cleaning and maintenance work in the food service area.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists with the preparation of food items and serves prepared food to the individuals.
- Prepares toast, serves beverages, fills condiment containers, cuts cakes, pies, and butter.
- Utilizes dish machine and garbage disposal to wash dishes, trays, pots, pans, utensils, glasses, and other dining ware.
- Instructs or directs students and other workers assigned to the dietary department in the preparation of food items.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six months experience in dietary.
Conditions of Employment
1. Per P.A. 098-0566 Requires ability to complete an ANSI accredited food handler training course within 30 days of employment.
2. Requires skill in the basic operation machinery and equipment found in the assigned area.
3. Requires ability to lift up 35 pounds and perform heavy physical work which includes climbing ladders for cleaning.
4. Requires the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written form.
5. Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
6. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
7. Requires the ability to travel.
8. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
9. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
10. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
Work Hours: Rotating days repeating every 21 days. See below.
Work hours rotate: 5:30 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.- 7:15 p.m.
21-day rotating pattern. Days off will be Wednesday/Thursday, Tuesday, Saturday/Sunday, Friday
