The clinical laboratory at Rush University Medical Center is recruiting a laboratory supervisor to oversee our cytogenetics laboratory. Candidates must have a B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology or related science, certification in clinical cytogenetics, and a minimum of 5 years of cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic experience. Candidates must be proficient in the performance and interpretation of clinical cytogenetic testing, including, chromosome, and FISH to support the needs of our full-service Cytogenetic Laboratory. Responsibilities include personnel supervision, training of cytogenetic technologists, review of laboratory results and development of new assays.

Supervises the technical operations of the laboratory, including resource and personnel management

Monitors expenses, gathers data, reviews information, writes reports and memos, maintains ordering and inventory, performs employee evaluations, schedules employees, and completes any other project as assigned, in a timely and accurate manner.
Position Qualifications Include:
Bachelor of Science degree in relevant science and certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency, or Master of Science degree in a relevant discipline.
Five years (5) relevant experience or equivalent required.
