Job Description
Under administrative supervision, the Senior Maintenance Worker performs skilled manual labor including construction repair of City facilities. Employee performs a number of tasks such as preparing work sites, setting grades and forms, requesting line locations, placing finishing and curing concrete, setting up traffic controls and barriers, placing pavement markings and paintings. Employee has contact with the public and must abide by all safety rules & regulations. Job Responsibilities
1. Loads material, and any other additional equipment needed.
2. Preparing work sites to complete assigned projects.
3. Assist in cleaning equipment, hand tools, truck, monitoring of storage, inventory of materials and equipment.
4. May perform minor repairs to the tools, equipment or truck.
5. May operate the equipment that is attached to the truck working on the project to repair sidewalks.
6. Performs manual work in setting grades, setting forms, requesting line locations, placing, finishing, and curing concrete.
7. Works during emergencies (i.e. storms, hurricanes, etc.)
8. Assists and gives instructions to one or more employees.
9. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum Requirements - 1. Job requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Job requires one (1) year of related work experience.
3. Must have basic knowledge of hand tools.
4. Job requires a current, valid Texas Class C driver's license.
5. Required to be on stand-by or on call (waiting to be engaged to work) when necessary.
6. Must follow all safety rules and regulations.
7. Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language. Physical Requirements
1. Employee works outdoors, a 5 day/40hr work week, with exposure to hazards which might result in serious injury.

2. Works in extreme heat and cold weather conditions.
3. Job requires continuous lifting of heavy materials up to 60 pounds, constant physical movement, and demands physical strength associated with hard labor.

4. Employees working in the installation and repairing of sidewalks may use a jack hammer, air compressors, pumps, small power generators, compactors, line and grade levels, but all employees will be trained on the job to handle such tools. Additional Information
1. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
2. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
