Job Title: Strategic Technical Pursuits Lead

Summary:

The North America Cloud Engineering (NACE) Division is creating a new Strategic Pursuit Team (SPT) which will focus on partnering with C-Level client executives (many of whom are already significant Oracle customers) across our top vertical markets – including Healthcare, Retail, Banking, and Telecommunications – to accelerate their adoption of cloud technologies. Building on the success of strategic wins like NVIDIA, Uber and others, it is looking to build a team that can ideate, develop and execute on strategic technical partnerships jointly with key customer executives.

This role, that sits within the Cloud Engineering organization, will leverage the candidate’s deep understanding and experience in the hyperscaler and cloud industry to create large and unique partnerships that redefine Oracle’s market position. The candidate has a strong sense of customer success, business development and technical acumen that blends to become a trusted advisor to key customers. The ultimate goal being to own and execute on strategic technical partnerships in the IaaS and PaaS space of OCI.

Day to day the candidate will work with sales executives and internal stakeholders to create unique and strategic value propositions that dwarf the average cloud consumer. Having direct knowledge and experience in large ($100M+) cloud agreements and partnerships is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• The Strategic Pursuits Team will consist of highly skilled members with at least 10+ years of experience operating within the Fortune 50 in information technology sales, consulting, or management.
• Understand Azure, GCP, and AWS products and business models and clearly articulate how Oracle solutions differentiate and have direct value to customers.
• Work closely with customer C-suite and their direct reports to understand near and long-term strategic initiatives, technology roadmap, and business issues, translating them into Oracle solutions and making bold plays as necessary.
• Develop and execute strategic technical initiatives that support the growth of the cloud business.
• Create and close large OCI deals, winning new lighthouse reference customers.
• Work with customer executives to understand their technical needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
• Work jointly with sales executives to construct large partnerships to drive OCI growth.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies and trends. This includes researching competitor deal structures and technical partnerships to position Oracle as the number one choice.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the cloud business strategy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the cloud computing industry.
• Proven ability to develop and execute technical strategies.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and trends. Certified in at least one of the 4 top hyperscalers, AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work experience in either pre-sales, cloud solution architecture and/or technical organizations owning large scale cloud implementations is a must.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
