Seeking a highly motivated Finance Analyst or Senior Finance Analyst interested in partnering with the business to deliver performance-based analytics and provide key strategic insights to management. This role will further play a fundamental part in driving efficiencies through contribution to ongoing improvements in systems and processes. While we look for somebody with a strong technical background, and data management skills, we are also looking for strong communication skills and an analytical mindset. This role could be based in our Richmond Bay Area or Sacramento Area offices. One might not possess all skills now but should demonstrate an aptitude to learn and develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Detailed revenue and profitability analysis on our offices, clients, and customers.
  • Identifying areas for performance improvement - creating key insights to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • KPI performance and benchmarking - continuously review, develop, and improve.
  • Presentations to management teams and supporting managers through improvement implementations.
  • Extracting and validating system data to improve the accuracy of our business analysis data warehouse.
  • Support global finance and business improvement projects.
  • Support the North American budgeting and forecasting processes. (Oracle and Hyperion)
  • Development of equipment, capital improvements, acquisitions, and operating expense allocation reports
  • Support in producing monthly business analysis and reporting packages.
  • Assist with Competitor profiling and analysis initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with business leaders including Senior Management, Operations, and Commercial teams

Day In The Life

  • Running daily reporting for management
  • Forecasting and budgeting business profitability
  • Monthly variance analysis on forecasted performance
  • Tracking and completing variance analyses on numerous capital projects
  • Provide management with buyer analysis and supplier profitability
  • Update accounting check signing matrices as needed
  • Provide insight to management on intercompany shipments, operational metrics, and yard profitability
  • Craft and navigate the capital expenditure approval process as a liaison to operational management
  • Organize and manage the yard inventory count process
  • Organize and manage fixed asset changes
  • Organize and manage Carb filings
  • Aim to improve these processes through automation and systematizing set-ups working with business intelligence leaders to take on bigger projects

Qualifications

  • Degree level in finance, accounting, or similar discipline - qualification by experience will also be considered
  • Previous experience in a management accounting/analyst role would be a plus
  • Analytical and highly numerate
  • Experience with business analytics tools such as PowerBI would be a plus
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills - in particular, Excel
