Job description

The Speech and Language Pathologist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides speech and language therapy evaluation, modalities and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. Accurately assesses patient’s needs; identifies and initiates appropriate speech and language therapy interventions; provides patient and family teaching; works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional speech and language therapy practice e and multi-disciplinary teamwork. Participates in performance improvement and program development activities.

Qualifications:

 Must hold a bachelor or master of communicative disorders / speech language pathology from an ASHA accredited college or university.

 Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.

 Must hold a valid license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Louisiana.

 Must be CPR certified.

 Must have sensory skills to differentiate clinical signs and symptoms and the emotional stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations including emergency response to patient incident.

 Continuing CEU’s as required per individual licensure.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
