May Center School for Brain Injury and Neurobehavioral Disorders is one of only a few pediatric programs in the United States focusing on both education and rehabilitation of children and adolescents with neurobehavioral, genetic, and related disorders.This nationally recognized school provides exceptional services to children, adolescents, and young adults, ages 5-22, with a broad range of neurobehavioral challenges. These include brain injury, genetic or chromosomal disorders, seizure disorders, mood disorders, and intellectual and neurodevelopmental disorders. We provide full-day, year-round educational, behavioral, medical, and rehabilitative services, and use established treatment and educational methods based on the latest instructional, clinical, and applied behavior analytic research.
May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities Western MA have openings for our Chicopee campus for Special Education Teacher to work in a classroom setting providing educational services to children and adolescents with autism or other developmental disabilities.

We provide full-day, year-round educational and vocational services for children and adolescents from preschool to age 22, using proven methods of treatment and teaching based on the latest clinical and applied research.

Responsibilities
Train staff on implementing student programming
Help design individualized curriculum and write IEPs
Collect and evaluate data
Write and review student progress reports
Implement comprehensive behavior support plans
Provide case management and home consultation
Deliver individualized and group instruction and other educational objectives
Prepare and complete MCAS and MCAS Alternative portfolios
Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred
Massachusetts certification in moderate or severe special education preferred
Applicants currently enrolled in a teacher special education licensure program working towards moderate or severe special education licensure will be considered
Experience in ABA and working with students with Autism and other developmental disabilities required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Availability to work year-round Monday through Friday
Valid Driver’s License
