National Health and Welfare Fund located in Lombard, Illinois (Interstate-88 Corridor) has an immediate opening(s) for a Short Term Disability Specialist.

Job responsibilities include reviewing and determining eligibility for short term disability benefits (weekly income). Position requires ability to answer incoming phone calls from members regarding the process in order to assist them in a professional, objective, and helpful manner. Must be able to work in a team environment. Able to meet daily and weekly deadline, effectively communicate with Member Services Department and other departments throughout the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum high school diploma

2. Minimum 2 years Short Term Disability Specialist experience in a medical/insurance environment

3. Ability to identify, investigate and gather information from multiple sources

4. Use established guidelines and techniques such as conflict resolution, positive/friendly/empathetic attitude towards Members and staff

5. Data entry and/or typing experience, at least 35 WPM.

6. Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills

7. Report status of all open claims to management as needed

Candidate who will succeed in this postion is reliable, team oriented, works well with others and is comfortable working for a customer service based Benefits Fund.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
