REPORTS TO: Plant Manager SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

This position prepares finished product by means of wrapping, banding, and staging in order to get it ready for shipment. This position may require loading and unloading trucks/trailers by use of forklift; in addition to delivering product or incoming shipments to offices or other departments internally. This position requires safe work practices including formal forklift training. Housekeeping tasks will be warranted when necessary.

• Prepares finished product to be loaded onto trucks by banding and wrapping them, with an emphasis on quality.
• Loads and unloads trucks. Stages and bills materials in designated areas and loads shipments in trailers.
• Collects and delivers product containing printed or non-printed material, adhering to good safety practices in carrying out duties.
• Delivers materials to work areas as directed, including ink totes and paper rolls.
• Responsible for communicating daily job status and needed information to forklift drivers on other shifts.
• Performs vehicle maintenance and housekeeping.
• Completes daily forklift checklists at the start of every shift for OSHA/MiOSHA compliance.
• Complies with safety standards and regulations required my OSHA/MiOSHA.
• Sweeps warehouse floor daily.
• Aware of status of jobs in process to assist customer service, management, and customers.
• Performs other duties as requested.

• Close-toed shoes are required when in production areas
• Noise exposure when in Web Pressroom and Sheetfed areas with 85+ dBA level. Hearing protection is offered and required.
• Temperature of manufacturing plant can become humid and hot
• Frequently exposed to paper dust, ink, and chemicals on the manufacturing floor and shipping department
• Operates forklift, banding tool, and skid wrapper
• Works around and operates machines with various moving parts
• Maneuvers within smaller/ cramped work spaces

REQUIRED:

• Basic mechanical skills
• Organizational skills
• General knowledge of bills of lading
• General knowledge of logistics operations

• General forklift safety knowledge

PREFERRED:

• Printing knowledge; preferably within a manufacturing environment

• Prolonged sitting/standing/walking
• Bending/stooping/twisting/kneeling/ crouching/reaching
• Heavy lifting- up to 20 pounds
• Prolonged driving on forklift

REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of forklift driving experience

PREFERRED:

• Minimum 1 year of printing process experience

• Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training for forklift and electronic skid jack use
