Primary Function:

Under the direct supervision of the Parts Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing all duties to quality and productivity standards of Willis Automotive. This position is also responsible for the pickup and delivery of pars and supplies from customers and vendors throughout the state of Iowa.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pickup and delivery of parts and supplies for customers and vendors in the Des Moines metro, surrounding communities and statewide Iowa
• Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
• Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Pickup and delivery of parts and supplies around the campus as needed.
• Completes a log at the time of delivery/pickup and requests recipient's signature for parts delivery.
• Reviews invoices for parts delivery for correct payment method and ensures collection and remittance to the dealership.
• Empties trash and cardboard daily
• Answers telephones as needed
• General inventory control functions such as inventory bin checks, cycle V counts, & general bin cleaning
• Demonstrates safe and courteous driving skills at all times.
• Complete bi-annual hazardous material certifications/training requirements

What we need from you:

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
• Previous experience in dealership parts department preferred
• Hazardous material training & certification preferred
• Working knowledge of mathematical concepts
• Valid driver’s license and insurability required
• Must be able to have off-premise driving privileges
• Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills required

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Will stand six to eight hours during a shift. When delivering parts to other departments, will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
