Shift Leader Responsibilities
- Demonstrate relentless focus and understanding on delivering the best guest and team experience during scheduled shift
-Creates the Le Pain Quotidien’s experience that keeps our guest coming back
-Responsible for the training and development of service team new hires and the cross training for existing team members; helps to identify and train future shift leads.
-Assists with new team member training by positively reinforcing performance and providing operational knowledge to new team members as needed during training shift
- Has full knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, and retail items. Is able to describe every product and menu offering using descriptor words. Is able to use knowledge to sell items and make educated suggestions to our guests regarding wine and beer pairings
-Writes orders, rings beverage and food orders into POS, and follows up with kitchen as necessary
-Provides quality beverages and food products consistently to all guests by adhering to LPQ recipe and presentation standards. Role models health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
-Reads table to match service to guest’s preferences, marks tables and courses food appropriately, and anticipates guest’s needs
-Maintains and clears table when appropriate, offers dessert, and presents check at conclusion of meal
-Has a clear understanding and follows Le Pain Quotidien’s Steps of Service
-Handles any guest complaints with genuine concern and elevates to manager when necessary
-Demonstrates effective knowledge and use of all in-store learning and training programs. Understands the benefit of linking coaching, training and learning to the business.
-Ensures restaurant ambience is being upheld to Le Pain Quotidien’s high standards
-Creates meaningful first impressions by promptly greeting and welcoming guests
