Job Summary:

The position of Supply Collaboration Engineer will be a key leader in various Collaborative Product and Process Development teams, interfacing with Design Engineering, Suppliers and Procurement to ensure early collaboration on design for supply chain agility, manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and cost as well as adherence to APQP guidelines. The position is tasked with helping to balance part proliferation and product complexity with cost and agility to optimize total value. Additional functional responsibilities include integration between Global Purchasing verticals and Divisional Leaders to deliver procurement excellence, design for X elements, & providing PFEP requirements to deliver on engineered value chains.

Job Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

The position provides leadership and is a key communicator for Collaborative Product and Process Development and will lead broad based cross functional teams in trade-off discussions. The role is accountable for finding balance across agility, manufacturability, cost, quality and time targets by way of collaboration at a part number level for their respective components, systems and/or categories. Total cost management to also include evaluating incoterms, duty, packaging & logistics cost rollup as well as make/buy scenarios. The overall goal of the position is to engineer the product value chain in a way that delivers the necessary level of manufacturing agility while optimizing total value across competing elements. Additionally, this role will collaborate with Category Purchasing, Logistics Professionals, and suppliers to maintain a responsive and resilient material and services flow for the product group from source to dock.

Beyond the completion of its own work, the position may assign and review the deliverables of other employees.

The incumbent needs to have strong analytical skills and the ability to influence others when there is conflict in processes, objectives, or solutions. They need to have the ability to anticipate problems and cultivate multiple alternative solutions before selecting a final path. The incumbent also sets priorities and establishes a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve targeted results.

Typical internal customers include a department or Business Unit in a Division. The position's primary customers are internal.

Basic Requirements:

  • The position requires a technical engineering or manufacturing background with experience in new product introduction.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are also required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, and persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.


Top Candidates May Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Technology, or Materials Science curriculum plus 10 or more years of experience in a combination of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering roles or a master’s degree in an applicable field is highly desired.

  • Experience with design or manufacturing related to battery technologies/energy storage a strong plus.
