Job Description
Coordinates and directs student services to support all teaching programs of the Department (SOM Informatics), including residential/on-campus and hybrid/executive modalities, and department certificate programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Resolve questions/requests from prospective and matriculated students. Liaison to Graduate Studies, other departments and programs, Registrars, Cashiers, Mizzou Online, International Center, Financial Aid, Student Health, Accountability & Support, etc.
- Advise students of visa status and regulations, monitor enrollment and work authorization regulations. Coordinate and communicate with visiting scholars. Coordinate and manage new student orientation and communicate pertinent information and processes to incoming students.
- Ensure degree/certificate for all enrolled students. Communicate requirements, monitor and update plans of study, confirm proper registration, assure all program, department, school, and University requirements are met and procedures are followed accurately.
- Maintain records of curricula for all degrees and certificate programs. Contribute to discussions within department and other University program faculty and staff regarding course sharing, new courses, degrees and certificates. Work with registrar to update degree audits.
- Assist DGS with planning and development of academic programs and procedures. Advise faculty and students of university, school, and department policies.
- Assist with course scheduling, registration, and course materials ordering. Maintain teaching assignments and develop class schedules. Schedule courses in MyZOU ensuring proper location codes and course fees. Provide permissions and monitor registrations.
- Coordinate comprehensive exams for all residential students and ensure graduate faculty status of all members and process status nominations. Assist with organizing graduate events.
- Collect and maintain academic program records, including student application and advising, financial awards, enrollment, completion, placement, teaching, and course evaluations. Coordinate on course evaluations launch and reporting. Extensive, A hoc, recurring reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the department, school and University.
Recruiting:
Collaborate on the admissions process from initial inquiry and receipt of application through matriculation by maintaining current knowledge of applicable Department, School and University policies/procedures governing student recruitment and admissions in order to assist and advise prospective students. Respond to inquiries and provide information, assistance, and advice about academic programs, admissions requirements, and prerequisite course requirements to prospective students. Provide support to the admissions committee, including organizing admission interviews, calculating GPAs, and sending out acceptance/rejection letters.
Carry out program marketing and student recruitment activities in order to generate applications for admissions. Compile and distribute marketing materials to prospective students, alumni, and prospective employers, and other health services professionals by mail, email or in person at career fairs, alumni gatherings, or professional meetings. Represent Department, School and University by staffing student recruitment activities at local, regional, and national career fairs and professional meetings.
Provide assistance in a cross training capacity as needed in post matriculation areas (e.g.; new student orientation, maintaining student records, continuing to advise students after matriculation, and planning graduation and alumni events. Coordinate the Alumni-Student Mentoring program.
Assist with placement and budgets for GRA positions, out of state fee tuition waivers, and other financial aid. Track and update post-graduation contact information.

Salary Range:$50,367-$91,392 Yearly

Shift
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional work outside of normal business hours to assist with various student related events.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Three to four years of experience in student recruiting, marketing, or other highly interactive promotional field is necessary.
