In this key role, you will support Rare Disease IT’s strategy and change management lead with the planning, creating and delivery of IT strategy and change communications. A self-starter, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and produce innovative, high-impact and engaging communications that connect-the-dots strategically to advance priorities, influence outcomes and deliver measurable results!
You are highly skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple projects with speed, agility, and flexibility. You are adept at engaging with colleagues at all levels - listening, advising, and executing from start to finish – and accountable for results. You are a critical thinker with insatiable curiosity, who brings new ideas for the best ways to promote strategy, change, and other key initiatives, and to continuously improve and enhance our efficiency and effectiveness in how we deliver.
A seasoned writer and editor, you must be a pro at creating simple, clear, and compelling communications, able to develop messaging in the right tone for each audience and deliver via the most appropriate media to produce a measurable outcome.
You will be responsible for:
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
- Develop a wide range of digital content and internal communication materials to support change and transformation initiatives, employee campaigns, internal websites, town halls, special events
- Manage the monthly “postcard” submission, selection and posting process
- Manage the RDU IT change and communication plan; maintain comms calendars and track/report quarterly progress
- Manage the next-gen development of RDU IT’s internal website (Nucleus) and SharePoint MVP site, ensuring company and functional alignment; implement a governance model for content curation, consistency, and quality
- Develop and manage an editorial and engagement strategy for RDU IT’s Workplace group to attract users by enhancing its value as a primary hub for sharing information and connecting with colleagues
- Ensure RDU IT adheres to branding and communication practices and reflects the cultural diversity and sensitivity of our global organization
- Monitor and assist in gaining employee feedback through formal and informal channels
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration and information exchange across Alexion and AstraZeneca change management and communications networks
You will need to have:
- Minimum 5-8 years communications experience, three of which in a leading role with accountability for change and communications planning and execution
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field or relevant experience in a communications role
- Superior writing and editing skills, with the ability to pivot between different writing styles to match different needs, media, and audiences
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex information into simple, clear, compelling stories and messaging
- Solid understanding of change management principles
- Experience writing strategic communication plans that identify goals, key messages, stakeholders, risks/mitigation, metrics, and delivery timeline
- Experience managing communications requirement for senior leaders
- Confidence managing a project from idea through execution, working iteratively and collaboratively to achieve the desired outcome
- Accountability for “quality control,” ensuring written communications are proofread, reviewed and fact-checked with subject matter experts
- Digital proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office and Collaboration Tools, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint
We would prefer for you to have:
- Master’s degree in a related area
- Pharma or biopharma experience a plus
- Experience in digital and data transformation
- Understanding of Agile principles
- Skills in the use of design tools e.g., Adobe creative suite to create compelling designs and content
- Website design and online content management experience
