Job Description
We are seeking a Leader for our national Human Health Risk Assessment practice at GEI. This role is a unique opportunity to partner with senior technical experts to drive solutions for our government, industrial, commercial development and energy clients throughout the US and Canada. You will work collaboratively with a team of human health and ecological risk assessment experts to maintain and expand the technical expertise and business development initiatives of GEI s Risk Assessment Group.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage a variety of risk assessment projects with varying levels of complexity and size.
- Provide technical direction and training to staff, as necessary to complete assignments.
- Support existing and new clients including participating in marketing and business development efforts, proposal preparation, and networking.
- Maintain and expand an external technical focus by participating in and presenting at professional organizations and conferences, and by assisting members of the GEI Risk Assessment Group to engage in similar participation.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop junior risk assessment scientists.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working on human health risk assessment projects.
- B.S. or M.S. in Toxicology, Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar field.
- Professional registration (e.g., DABT, LSP, etc.) in area of expertise is a plus.
- Seller-doer with a desire to build client relationships.
- Proficient in the theory and practice of screening and baseline human health risk assessment and conceptual site model development under Federal, State and/or Canadian guidance. Familiarity with ecological risk assessment and the interface between ecological and human health risk assessment is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience communicating risk assessment principles and findings to coworkers, regulators, and the general public.
- Ability to travel for site visits / inspections, client meetings, and business development opportunities (to include overnight travel, as needed).
- Possess a valid driver s license.
