Responsibilities

Basic Purpose
Responsible for managing the NV Energy Foundation statewide. Ensures all Foundation guidelines, requirements, rules, laws and regulations are being adhered to and that Foundation grants, reports and communication is properly managed. Serves as key advisor to the Foundation executive committee, fosters all Board communication and provides advice on critical issues. Responsible for managing and reviewing monthly and annual financial statements as required by law and in compliance with Berkshire Hathaway Energy procedures. Leads all Foundation processes and procedures, including confidential information. In addition, the Administrator manages the Community Relations Department budgeting and financial tracking
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administers NV Energy Foundation grants.
  • Responsible for managing all activities to prepare and manage grants for the NV Energy Foundation executive board and committees.
  • Ensures the Foundation board of directors has the proper advice and resources to fulfill their duties according to state law.
  • Serves as a key advisor to the board of directors and has a significant impact on Foundation governance.
  • Responsible for all Foundation accounting and leads accounting teams in preparing the annual financial budget to ensure adherence to all federal and state rules.
  • Evaluates Foundation proposals and administers all terms and conditions to ensure compliance to standards, rules and regulations.
  • Performs all federal and state audits on Foundation-related information and prepares all reports for all expenses.
  • Leads communication with community partners and performs research on all proposed and funded programs.
  • Manages milestone tracking and grant performance.
  • Responsible for implementing major Foundation projects and initiatives, including online contests and giveaways and other communication as needed.
  • Manages project records and prepares all modifications to resolve various application issues for Foundation funds.
  • Prepares appropriate reports for all funders and ensures grantees work within deadlines to remain compliant with agreements.
  • Coordinates with program directors and managers and responds to data requests submitted by internal and external customers.
  • Understands and recommends changes to major Foundation processes to improve efficiencies, accuracy, and customer service.
  • Continually evaluates current business processes and seeks to improve internal procedures wherever possible.
  • Manages and maintains records of database and prepares files and historical data for all Foundation reports.
Manages northern Nevada Community Relations financial statements and budgets and mentors and trains staff in community relations department
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school plus 6 years of related experience.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • Foundation rules and regulations required by the IRS. Demonstrated knowledge of NV Energy’s Foundation and Community Relations strategic plan
  • Foundation administration, analysis and tracking
  • Financial analysis and accounting information.
Demonstrated skills such as:
  • Analytical, interpersonal and communication.
Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required.

Compensation


Annual Salary: $85,500.00 (Min) to $100,600.00 (Mid); Up to 12% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
