Senior Business Developer

The Senior Business Developer will support a broad range of development activities within ENGIE’s portfolio of utility-scale solar assets across the United States. You will work closely with land and greenfield teams on early development aspects of wind, solar and storage project development to ultimately fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America.
This position can be located in Santa Barbara, CA, Chicago, IL, Houston, TX, Denver, CO and will be part of the Business Development team in Grid-Scale Renewables.The Senior Business Developer reports to the Business Development Director – All Technologies.
What you’ll do:
- Support the growth of ENGIE's wind, solar, and storage pipeline through the lens of data science and spatial analysis;
- Develop tools/models in ArcGIS Pro, Python, and R to automate site identification and improve the efficiency of site evaluation;
- Manage ENGIE's existing Competitor Database, improving data quality and platform ease-of-use in alignment with GIS team standards;
- Design new and innovative spatial layers to help assess projects and improve strategy;
- Manipulate non-spatial data into spatial formats using data wrangling techniques;
- Advise the greenfield team on development constraints related to individual prospects;
- Map newly identified prospects, ensuring they are tracked in the database;
- Explore products from third parties, such as new data subscriptions, spatial models, or AI algorithms;
- Provide input on strategic goals based on prior development experience;
- Perform additional modeling or programming tasks as necessary;
- Carry out other duties as assigned
What you bring:
- A minimum of five (5) years related experience, preferably in renewable energy development with the ability to navigate the greenfielding and prospecting process.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
- Master’s degree in Environmental, Computer Science, Business Administration or Economics preferred.
- Detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue required information.
- Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task and prioritize critical path tasks.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail.
- Results-oriented professional with the ability to work well with geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

- Salary Range: $69,275 - $176,670, annually
- Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
- In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
