Primary Objective:
The Senior Accounting Manager, USA is a key member of the US finance organization supporting all ALS businesses in the US. He/She will be responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work. He/She will support the US Controller in all accounting and finance matter with primary responsibility over Treasury, Tax Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, and Integrations.
Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
- Manage treasury activities, including streamlining banking activities, cash forecasting, approval of payments, funding requests, and settlement of intercompany balances.
- Manage the integration of acquisitions including completing the post-merger integration plan.
- Manage tax compliance schedule and activities including coordination of data requests for property taxes, sales & use tax, and state and federal income tax.
- Coordinate with operations and legal to fulfill regulatory compliance matters and streamline group structure.
- Support the accounting department in the standardization of accounting policies, procedures, and controls across all businesses.
- Manage information requests during external, internal, and tax audits.
- Serve as back up to US Controller.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in accounting, finance, business administration or closely related field. MBA preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant/ Chartered Accountant
- Minimum of ten years of experience in accounting, finance, business administration, and other related areas, of which a minimum of 5 years must be in a management role.
- Minimum of ten years of experience with ERP systems and Microsoft (MS) Office, particularly MS Excel; Tier 1 ERP experience is an asset.
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated knowledge of treasury, tax compliance, and regulatory compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and controls
- The ability to build and foster relationships across the organization.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, provide timely and clear communication, and lead with accountability for results.
- M&A experience, including due diligence and integrations.
- Keen attention to detail, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as negotiation skills.
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, large organization and thrive under pressure.
