Phoenix Senior Living is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team.
The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
PURPOSE
Provide financial information and prepare reports by researching, identifying, analyzing, interpreting, recording, and researching the financial condition and performance of a portfolio of commercial properties
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Summarize monthly financial status by collecting information; performing bank reconciliations, preparing balance sheet, income statement and other reports, maintain fixed asset detail, posting and running reports for accounts receivable and accounts payable subsystems, recording standard journal entries, maintain and record partner loan schedules, and account analysis.
- Process mortgage, real estate taxes and management fee payments in a timely and accurate fashion
- Prepare yearend financial reporting for management review and distribution to tax preparer.
- Pro forma and/or budget preparation as required for cash flow or in compliance with operating agreements.
- Review, analyze, investigate financial information entered in accounting software; recommend financial actions and correct errors and inconsistencies.
- Substantiate financial transactions with verified source documentation.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with Property managers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections and lease administration on transactional issue resolution.
- Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Protect operations by keeping financial and proprietary information confidential.
- Contribute to team effort by assisting and mentoring other accountants as needed.
- Monitor compliance with accounting principles and company procedures. Compliance/Safety
- Complies with accounting law and Phoenix policies and procedures
- Ensures compliance against all state and federal regulations Problem Solving/ Decision Making/Financial
- Demonstrates the ability to be innovative and creative and have patience, high energy and resourcefulness in problem solving
- Understands the internal cost and impact as it relates to deadlines set against this position
- Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with the Home Office and Communities
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATION
Minimum 1 years related experience, Bachelor degree in accounting/finance
