Atticus Franchise Group is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a full-time position at our corporate office in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will be expected to take an active role in collecting and consolidating data out of the accounting system for each of our brands, P&L review and month end processes for all Atticus brands and must possess highly advanced financial and data analysis skills consistent with Atticus' highly analytical approach. The role will be report to the Controller. This person must be focused, energetic, and highly motivated. He/she must be a self-starter with a positive, "can do" attitude who regards no task as too big or too small for him/her. This person should be able to manage his/her responsibilities with minimal supervision or oversight while maintaining a high sense of urgency.

Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited to:

  • Compliance and thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assists in creating standardized operating processes for accounting functions.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.
  • Producing error-free accounting reports and presenting their results.
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Reconcile monthly intercompany account and create intercompany invoicing.
  • Record the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible) in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with technical accounting requirements related to lease accounting, asset capitalization, depreciation methodology, impairment recognition, etc.
  • Track existing fixed assets and periodically substantiate recorded balances via physical inventories and/or confirmations.
  • Calculate and record depletion, depreciation and amortization; Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets. Review and update the detailed schedules of F/A and accumulated depreciation.
  • Prepare Sales tax preparation and filing.
  • Understanding of the Statements of Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS) Rules
  • Participate as necessary in accounting integration of new business acquisitions.
  • Prepares analysis weekly to ensure assigned GL accounts are booked correctly into the GL system.
  • Knowledge and ability to assist accounting team with month-end close process.
  • Assist in the year-end financial statement audits and interim reviews with the external auditors, specifically in the preparation of audit schedules.
  • Other ad hoc projects assigned to meet business requirements.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong personal computer skills, including advanced proficiency with MS office software, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hospitality/Restaurant accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills, including ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and meet established deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Effective communication skills, including listening, written and verbal skills to express ideas, influence others and gain support.
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality.
  • Experienced in NetSuite/Sage Intacct ERP systems required.
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
  • Required Education and Experience: Minimum 5 years professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
