Our Fairbanks team is currently seeking a Security Officer to support our Fairbank Westmark Hotel in all aspects of security functions.
Responsibilities:
- Performs complete daily rounds of hotel premises on foot to ensure assets, guests and employees are secure in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Responds to urgent and emergent medical and non-medical incidents on the hotel property. Documents and communicates incidents as outlined by property guidelines.
- Upholds professional standards with employees by leading by example. Responsible for reporting of safety and behavioral issues to management. May be responsible for documentation of incidents.
- Intervenes in observed safety risks when possible and communicate the intervention to management for follow up.
- Communicates all safety and potential safety issues with management though designated channels to maintain confidentiality as needed.
- Acts as the point person when other security staff are not available, including assisting guest service staff with tasks when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Three (3) years experience working in physical asset security or similar environment experience is preferred.
- Supports and complies with company health and safety standards.
- Prioritizes work, maintains attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
- Clearly communicates, verbally and written, both in person and over the phone with employees and management.
- Works in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- Must be able to work nights and/or weekends, including overnight shifts and Holidays.
- Works with minimal supervision on established daily goals as discussed with shift supervisor.
- Demonstrates an ability to maintain confidentiality and communications regarding sensitive topics.
- Has active and valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Criminal background check including a credit check will be conducted as a condition of employment.
- Must be authorized to legally work in the United States.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
- The ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff.
- The ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
- Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
