Amherst Regional High School is seeking a highly skilled clinician with a School Adjustment Counselor license to provide in-school counseling services for students in two specialized special education programs.The School Adjustment Counselor will work with students, providing individual and group counseling services for students with social/emotional, mental health, and behavioral needs in the inclusive Student Support Program (SSP) as well as in the substantially separate program that is being developed to be implemented in 23-24 to address the needs of students. The School Adjustment Counselor will have the following roles and responsibilities: Provide group and individual counseling servicesCase management services for assigned program studentsCollaborate and consult with school personnel on topics related to social/emotional learning and mental health issuesCo-facilitate lessons and work directly in the SSP/Sub-separate program Provide crisis intervention Conduct self-harm screenings and threat assessmentDevelop student support plansDevelop individual student goals and benchmarks, collect and analyze data, and prepare progress reportsParticipate in IEP meetings to provide both oral and written input on student progress and needsMaintain routine family communication and collaboration as part of service delivery planning and servicesCollaborate and consult with teachers and related service personnel regarding strategies and interventions appropriate for students and communication regarding progress monitoringMaintain contact with outside providers and agencies to facilitate a comprehensive approach to the students service deliveryOther Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in school based teams as needed to address student needsPerform other related duties as requiredAttend scheduled staff meetingsAssume any additional responsibilities as directed by the PrincipalParticipate in and maintain QBS Safety Care certificationAttend districtwide mental health team meetings and trainingsQualifications: Masters Degree or above in Social Work, Psychology, or other mental health provider fieldBackground working with adolescents with special educational needsMA DESE School Adjustment Counselor certification
