POSITION: SAWMILL – MILLWRIGHT

• DAY SHIFT
• NIGHT SHIFT
• WEEKEND SHIFT (FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY, and MONDAY)

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Millwrights are responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation & modification of all sawmill-related equipment to safely maximize, uptime, quality and productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Safety Responsibilities

o Follow all Lock Out policies and procedures

o Follow all safety policies and procedures while completing repairs and modifications to equipment

o Use proper PPE as required to work safely

· Equipment Responsibilities

o Repair and maintenance of all mill equipment including belted conveyers, chain transfers, pneumatic systems, and lumber manufacturing equipment

o Service of hydraulic / pneumatic systems including pumps, cylinders, and valves

o Limited trouble shooting of electrical components based on experience

o Some basic computer systems experience, training provided

o Must have a basic set of hand tools. Specialty tools are provided.

· Production Responsibilities

· Clearing jams and maintaining the flow of lumber

· Flexible hours, holiday and weekend work will be required based on the needs of the mill.

· Occasional fill in for production positions in case of crew shortages, covering of breaks, or training to understand proper function of the equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance
• An applicable two-year degree from a Technical College is a huge plus
• Superior troubleshooting skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Solid background in heavy industry and construction
• Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process is an asset as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability

POSITION TYPE:

Full-Time/Regular. Beasley Forest Products currently operates 12-hour shifts, 5 days a week. A-Shift is from 5:00AM – 5:00PM and B-Shift is from 5:00PM – 5:00PM. Weekend work will be required as the equipment is available for maintenance repair.

- B-Shift gets 6% shift differential pay increase where the average employee receives an additional $2500+ a year.
