Role: SAP HR ABAP Consultant

Location: Raritan, NJ

Job Description: Fulltime Role with TCS

  • SAP HR ABAP Consultant is accountable for development and ongoing maintenance/enhancements of business systems.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements, review existing systems, define the solution, and translate that into detailed programming designs.
  • Ability to take detailed programming designs and perform the development required to translate them into efficient and accurate code.
  • Capable of effectively communicating with internal and external customers possessing various levels of technical knowledge.
  • Ability to determine the underlying issue when presented with sometimes ambiguous and/or contradictory information; demonstrate good listening skills.
  • Ability to quickly solve/determine problems working with technical/non-technical groups in areas that may not be primary area of expertise.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong understanding of SAP HR Payroll and Time modules required and should be able to translate functional requirements into technical specifications clearly and accurately.
  • Sound understanding and experience in object-oriented design and programming required
  • Strong skills in using ABAP proxy’s, Enhancements, RFC’s (Remote Function Call), Data Dictionary, Dialog Programming, Classical and Interactive Reporting, ALV, Interfaces/Conversions, Smart forms & EDI.
  • Strong knowledge on Info types, LDB, HR Function Modules, BAPI's, Debugging HR programs, Create PA Info Types, Creating Objects PP01, Understanding of InfotypePA0007/ PA0050/PA2011/PA0416
  • Experience integrating SAP systems with external systems through PI required.
  • Experience in Webdyn Pro for ABAP.
  • Knowledge of RF programming is preferred
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment is required.
  • Worked in Agile projects

Relevant Years of Experience: 5+ in SAP HR ABAP, Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.

Must Have Technical Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in ABAP development, with both custom development and customizations to existing processes, including use of IDOCs, ALE, RFC, BAPI, BADI, ALV, LSMW, ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, Reports (Classical and Interactive Reports), BDC (Batch-Input and Call Transaction Methods), SAP Scripts, Enhancements.
  • Experience with SAP SmartForms, including custom forms and improvements to existing SAP forms, output methods, determinations, etc.
  • Experience developing and using Infosets, SQVI, SAPQuery.
  • Exposure to EAI/B2B interfaces developed in SAP PI (formerly XI or Exchange Infrastructure) for interfaces, including mapping and IDOC processing.
  • Background with SAP partner applications and their integrations to SAP
  • Good Understanding ABAP HR concepts Personnel Management (PA), Time Management(PT), Personnel development, personnel Administration, Payroll.
  • Good Understanding on Info types, LDB, HR Function Modules, BAPI's, Debugging HR programs, Create PA Info Types, Creating Objects PP01, Understanding of InfotypePA0007/ PA0050/PA2011/PA0416 .
  • Cluster Tables in Payroll, Schema, User Exits, BADI’s, Dynamic Actions- T588Z maintenance , using Sub routines.

Must Have Business Qualifications:

  • Able to manage a team as required.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Knowledge on S4HANA is an Advantage
  • Participation in full cycle implementation and/or a minimum of 2 years of run support experience required.
  • Knowledge of packaging and warehouse processes
  • Exposure to XML, ITS Mobile Web Services, Service Registry, SOA Manager for creating and changing service end points in WSDL conversions would be an asset.
  • Interact with other IT Development and Operations departments to clarify and build applications that meet a business unit’s objectives, create system documents and design, develop and implement solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert with regards to programming, system design, and development related activities. This includes leading code and design reviews within a project team
  • Provide work estimates to managers and project managers as requested.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and adherence of systems development methodologies within projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,309.94 - $120,549.02 per year
