BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to ensure that trash and debris are collected and deposited. This is accomplished by operating sanitation trucks and vehicles, changing out containers, replacing containers, picking up loose trash and materials, maintaining grounds areas, and cleaning dirty containers. Other duties include working on trim crews, directing dumping and transfer traffic and completing related tasks as assigned.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
Driver’s License Required – Y Type - A Endorsements – NT

Individuals who do not currently have a Class A – NT license will be given until one (1) business day prior to the end of their probation to meet this requirement as a condition of employment.

Individuals who are missing an endorsement will be given 30 days to acquire said endorsement/s. Unless a driving exam is required at which time management will determine a reasonable amount of time.

2 M Collects, moves or relocates trash and refuse by operating trucks and large vehicles, driving routes or at the landfill, and ensuring trash is collected regularly and is in its appropriate landfill location.
3 M Picks up and delivers containers by dropping off empty containers, delivering by backing up trailers, picking up filled containers, loading on trailers, ensuring refuse is covered, and transporting.
5 H Maintains alley rights of way by trimming hedges, trees and bushes, placing cut pieces into chippers or trucks, ensuring materials are not left in alleys, and transporting.
7 M Steams containers by preparing chemicals, degreasing, removing particles or materials, and preparing containers for painting or repair.
9 L Completes related tasks at transfer station by directing traffic, cutting tires, mowing, weed eating, sweeping and cleaning.
