JOB SUMMARY: The Sample Lab Coordinator will work within the sample center at the UPL NA Kingstree, SC manufacturing facility. The Sample Lab Coordinator will ensure all samples are prepared and shipped in a timely matter to meet all deadline requirements. This individual will work closely with the QC testing lab and formulation labs in North America.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES:
80%
- Understand and follow quality standards, methods, procedures, and reporting as required
- Attend training classes and complete certifications as required for job duties
- Required to wear proper lab PPE specifically close toed shoes, lab coat, nitrile gloves, safety glasses
- Pour / weigh agricultural chemicals according to amounts requested
- Record all observations about the appearance and state of chemical samples and report any abnormalities

- Print sample requests daily via SharePoint
- Print required documents to accompany shipments such as SDSs and sample labels
- Ensure accuracy of all prepared documents as related to shipments
- Locate requested samples in sample storage room and properly reshelve upon completion of work
- Maintain safe and clean working environment and keeping up with laboratory housekeeping duties
- Any other duties assigned by manager
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science, Biology, or related field or at least 2 years working in laboratory environment
- Familiarity handling hazardous chemicals is nice to have
- Must be familiar with product safety data sheets (SDSs) and safety information they contain
- Handle confidential information with professionalism
- Must have an eye for detail and organization
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
- Must be able to execute many tasks quickly and correctly
- Ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive tasks
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with co-workers and others as required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, predominantly Word and Excel
