Roof Consultant

LOCATION

Eden Prairie, MN

POSITION SUMMARY

RCL Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Consultant with experience in both commercial and residential roofing & façade investigations, assessment and design to join our growing team in Eden Prairie, MN. In this role, a key component of your work will include assessing potential storm damage to exterior façade and roof components. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be technically sound in residential and commercial construction materials and methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform on-site inspections of building materials and systems to evaluate existing conditions and provide written reports including cause and origin of failed, damaged, defective materials and deficiencies. Provide recommendations for potential repair/replacement based on findings.
• Generate well written reports detailing investigation findings and recommendations. Reports must be well written and be subject to scrutiny from both internal review and other industry professionals.
• Perform supported specification and design services based on client needs that meet RCL Engineering Group and industry best practice standards. Communicate and collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines.
• Provide project quality assurance inspections and related reports including photos and field drawings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with roofing and façade materials and construction methods, building assessments, evaluations and forensic investigations.
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
• Demonstrate excellent written & verbal communication, organization and planning skills.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel. Drafting/modeling experience is not required but a general knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit would be beneficial.
• Must maintain a driver’s license in good standing and be able to be covered by company insurance policy.
• Occasional overnight travel will be expected as part of this position.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be able to perform inspections in confined spaces. The ability to traverse high and/or steep slope roofs is expected. Knowledge and proficiency using proper safety equipment as necessary.
• Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude, and be a team player.
• Candidates with a professional registration through IIBEC are preferred. These registrations include the following designations - RRC, RRO, RWC, REWC, REWO, RBEC, CBExP.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
