SUMMARY
This position works within a broad Wealth Management team environment in support of a differentiated experience for retirement plan client relationships. The role requires strong teamwork, relationship building and communication skills. This position is responsible for overseeing retirement plan administration and recordkeeping, ensuring compliance with legal documents, reporting requirements and government regulations, and policies. The position will require effective communication of plan benefits to sponsors and participants alike.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties as assigned.
- Oversee day-to-day retirement plan administration of client plans, including recordkeeping and compliance testing.
- Provide proactive client service to include plan design consultation, research and analysis of plan structure and service utilization to meet employer goals. Provide continuous education of fiduciary responsibilities and applicable regulations to employer sponsors.
- Oversee coordination of information flow for required audits and that Form 5500 is filed within timeframes, as prescribed by the service model. In accordance with the model, assure all IRS, DOL and ERISA regulatory reports and disclosures are filed timely and properly.
- Manage retirement plan relationships, in accordance with the service model, to comply with legal governing documents. Assure all required plan documents are current.
- Actively support growth of the department through participation and monitoring of progress for new plan establishment and transition. Be a resource for questions. Coordinate education sessions for new business.
- Coordinate delivery of education programs to meet employer goals and objectives. May participate in delivery of group education sessions.
- Oversee preparation of client meeting materials; participate in client meetings through team delivery and as defined in department service standards. Maintain active calendaring and communication activities with team members in support of client relationships.
- Act as a technical resource for clients and relationship team. Keep current on regulatory activity that could provide value to our clients.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to six years in Retirement Plan administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Insurance and NASD securities licensing including 7, 65 required, or to be obtained within six months of hire. Travel is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in meetings and /or presentations. Ability to work well within a team environment is critical. Ability to build strong client relationships is critical. Must have good project management and organization skills. Ability to properly prioritize work loads and remains adaptable under pressure. Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills. Must be organized and self-starter. Knowledge of Windows operating system, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Power Point are essential for success in this position. Knowledge and experience with qualified retirement plans will be necessary in this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, clients and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
