POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the staff respiratory therapist and/or supervisor/Lead respiratory therapist of Respiratory Care, the RCS/Student will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance and by caring for the appropriate patient population. Provide respiratory care, such as electrocardiograms, and, non-invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and practices. Perform a variety of duties relative to non-invasive therapy, cleaning, disinfecting, and storing respiratory therapy equipment and restocking of supplies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Skills
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of respiratory care and/or have completed the program and will obtain RRT or RPFT credential within 180 days of hire. Knowledge of fundamental care for the patient in a hospital care setting.
- Understand and accept strengths and the limitations of the Respiratory Care specialist in performing delegated tasks and assisting the Respiratory Care Practitioners.
- Customer service skills needed to interact with patient and families.
- Communication skills required as interactions with Respiratory Care Practitioners, nursing and medical staff during course of work.
- Experience
Perform delegated tasks and data collection that have been taught and verified in the course of study.
- Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- RRT within 180 days of hire or
- RPFT credential by NBRC and RCP licensure by TMB within 180 days of hire
