The project is part of a larger effort in the lab to define the role of intracellular signaling in establishing male bias in intellectual disability and ASD. The project requires an expert in both mouse models of ASD and iPSC maintenance and differentiation with a broad knowledge of the pathogenesis of disease and with a specific focus on intracellular signaling and activity of the CC2D1A gene. The RA II will also assist the PI with management of the ASD research subgroup in the laboratory assisting other lab members in designing experiments, training, and data analysis. The Research Associate is expected to have expertise in neuronal cell biology, including iPSC culture and differentiation, biochemistry, molecular biology, and mouse husbandry. They should also have a broad knowledge of developmental neuroscience and disorders of brain development, including how to study diverse models of autism and intellectual disability. They are expected to have excellent writing skills to prepare manuscripts based on their research, develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the facility and aid in developing the PI’s grant application.
