The desired RBT/BT applicant should be available anywhere between 8am - 5pm on the days they are available, as this is the timeframe that sessions tend to occur. Our RBTs tend to work from 8 or 9 am to 3 pm with one child throughout their day that incorporates circle time, individualized instruction, social skills instruction with their peers and fun activities like arts and crafts. Specialized instruction for older learners or telehealth sessions delivered from our center, tend to occur from 3-5 pm.
Prior to working with any learners, all interventionists are provided with extensive training on the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in order to teach behavior interventionists how to increase skills while decreasing problem behaviors that interfere with learning.
After training, all behavior technicians who meet performance criteria can sit for the RBT exam (with reimbursement for 1 test fee). If the exam is passed within 90 days of employment, employees will be eligible for a promotion and increased compensation.
