Outokumpu Stainless Steel is seeking for a highly motivated recent graduates in Engineering disciplines to join our Developmental Engineering Rotation Program in Calvert, Alabama.
Purpose of the role: An opportunity to work within a manufacturing environment supporting over 18 months, this program will expose you to many different areas of the business. You will gain valuable skills all while exploring different roles and teams. This 18-month program will introduce you to Operations, Maintenance, Sales, and Finance. At the conclusion, you will have the opportunity to be placed in an open position based on your interests and organizational needs.
You will have a support network of colleagues around you to nurture your development in different areas.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with engineering analyses and design for projects of all sizes while working on several projects concurrently.
- Assist in preparation of documents, plans, reports, and estimates.
- Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public in oral and written communication.
- Support various project and tasks related to manufacturing equipment maintenance
- Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Helps track the effectiveness of corrective actions and process improvement activities.
- Understand and follow safety requirements of the equipment and processes
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering fields, Electrical, Mechanical or Metallurgical/Material Science (mandatory)
- Ability to join new hires group in early June 2023.
- Advance knowledge MS Office - Well versed in Excel
- Capability to follow specification procedures in all operations
- Understanding of engineering methods, disciplines, and practices
- Understanding of performance metrics.
- Expertise with reporting tools e.g. visualizations, creating reports
- Work in our location, this is not a remote role.
- Adaptability. Ability to learn and adapt at a high level.

- Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
- Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps).
- Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat and cold and near moving parts. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt.
- Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
- Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials.
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.
- Ability to safely use power and hand tools
