The Finance Department is seeking energetic and dedicated professionals to join their team as a Real Estate Property Specialist. There are three vacancies; two are within the Acquisition/Relocation Section and one is in the Property Management Sections. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Project Manager, Assistant Real Estate Administrator, or Deputy Finance Director.
Duties include:
- Conducting direct negotiations.
- Preparing written reports.
- Preparing transactional documents related to the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real property.
- Other duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Knowledge of leasing principles to manage positive tenant relations and accounts.
- Knowledge of contract negotiation, drafting, and management.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Uniform Act.
- Ability to produce documents written in the English language using proper sentence structure, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
- Understanding of real property rights and interests.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks at one time with numerous interruptions.
- Familiarity with public infrastructure construction plans, right of way maps, and partial takes.
- Familiarity of appraisals and other types of valuation services.
SALARY
$49,878.40 - $76,107.20 annually. Candidates may be hired up to $76,107.20 depending upon qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Five years of experience in property and right-of-way acquisition, residential and commercial leasing, title examination, and real property management work,
- Supplemented by courses in business law, real estate principles, or real estate appraisal.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

- This position requires the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets including creating formulas and charts.
- Experience in acquiring property for public projects under the threat of eminent domain.
- Experience with report writing, research methods, and real estate market analysis.
- Experience in title examination and title report review.
- Experience in writing and interpreting land surveys and legal descriptions.
- Experience using desktop computer and associated software/data packages to produce reports and conveyance instruments in a prescribed format.
