- Quality Engineer supporting the Orion Human Space Flight program at Kennedy Space Center, Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building and the Spacecraft, Test, Assembly and Resource (STAR) Center.
- It's a fast-paced Manufacturing, Assembly, Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) environment.
- You will work with the experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products.
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical, electrical, aerospace, computer science, or other engineering degree preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Work or classroom experience with manufacturing processes and engineering documentation
- Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance and US Citizenship required.
- The ability to work an evolving shift schedule that will include weekend and off-shift hours, as required to support program objectives.
- Ability to develop performance metrics using Microsoft Excel and take appropriate action
Experience with any of the following is preferred:
- Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong verbal, and written communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task, be thorough and detail-oriented, with strong job closure and analytical skills.
- Candidate must also demonstrate a strong ability to understand and communicate technical issues verbally and produce detailed presentations on a regular basis. With this for consideration, the ability to present technical data to senior leadership on a regular basis will be required.
- An ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of non-conformance handling and disposition.
- Experience in aerospace/space programs
- Experience with human spaceflight NASA/DCMA customers
- Experience with program management and project management tools
- Experience with working in an Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) and Production environment
