About The Open Position

GHSP is looking to add an experienced Quality Engineer to our team to support the continued growth of our manufacturing facility in Grand Haven, Michigan. This role is responsible for developing quality documentation and working with suppliers and customers to resolve quality and/or system issues. You'll also have an opportunity to work with your peers to facilitate improvements in process and product.

Essential Job Functions

Process Improvement

• Facilitate improvement projects in order to:
• Reduce scrap and ppm

Improve yields using quality tools such as:

• Red X
• Six Sigma
• DOE
• Capability studies
• Document, track, and report on problem solving and corrective action activities.
• Analyze warranty returns and collaborate with internal teams (Warranty, Product Engineering, Manufacturing) to create product and process design improvements resulting from that analysis.

Operations Support

• Respond to internal and external quality issues in a timely manner
• Facilitate problem solving activities using documented processes.
• Process change requests, in partnership with the customer, to determine updated deliverables
• Manage and update production control plans and other quality documentation
• Reviews process flows and PFMEAs.

Customer Partnership

• Act as the voice of the customer by interpreting and internally communicating customer expectations related to product quality and quality systems.
• Primary quality contact for customers after product launch.Respond to customer complaints with containment activities and corrective action activities.
• Oversee and support customer audits and self-assessments, including the tracking and implementation of required countermeasures.
• Support weekly customer product reviews
• Visit customers and suppliers to learn processes and identify opportunities for improvements
