Hanon Systems, a global supplier of innovative automotive thermal and energy management solutions, seeks a Purchasing Manage to join our team in our Americas Innovation Center in Novi, MI. The purchasing manager is responsible for managing a commodity purchasing team in North America to deliver to goals of a multi-national company demonstrating strong leadership and change agent skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver year-over-year economic material cost reductions that align with corporate target
• Responsible for the analysis, metrics and management of $300M spend as well as driving strategic operating initiatives throughout the business.
• Deliver commodity strategies which leverage Hanon Systems’ global presence to maximize business impact, growth and total cost.
• Manage bid lists to support corporate business plan.
• Drive the lowest total cost model to support new business quotes and sourcing targets.
• Strengthen supplier relationships through strategic business reviews with key suppliers to execute alignment actions.
• Deliver cash flow improvement.
• Proactively manage distressed supplier environment and drive active contingency planning for suppliers with low or declining financial health ratings.
• Mentor the commodity buyers on the negotiation of LTAs and rebate structures.

Experience:

• Experience (5+ Years) in purchasing/procurement within the Automotive Sector

Education:

• BA in Business w/Supply Chain or BS in Engineering Degree

Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications:

• Product, industry and technology knowledge in climate control products as well as automotive field Requirements.
• Has worked for Global organizations and proven international manager.

• Business Acumen – knows how to work with in a global tier I supplier, capable of understanding the broader business strategy, able to position procurement as a driving strategic advantage.
