Wake Forest Health Network Pulmonology - Westchester seeks a physician to join their well-established and thriving practice of 1 physician and 2 advanced practice professionals. This is a team-oriented practice with supportive colleagues and well trained clinical and clerical staff that go the extra mile for their patients. The practice offers a great opportunity for a pulmonology physician who is desiring a comprehensive outpatient practice including a diverse patient population.
As physicians specializing in pulmonary medicine, we diagnose, treat, and care for patients with lung diseases, sleep disorders, and provide critical care medicine.
Our services include:
- Asthma
- Chronic bronchitis
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Emphysema
- Infections like pneumonia and bronchitis
- Lung masses, nodules, and tumors
- Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Restrictive lung disease
Job Summary
Responsible for the oversight of all clinical operational aspects of the Network Physicians including clinic and hospital services. Reports to the Senior Vice President for Network Physicians and Health System CMO and is responsible to support improvements in Quality/Safety, People, Operational Excellence, Financial Performance and Strategy/Growth. Acts as a liaison with all levels of administration, providers, and outside organizations to coordinate the business of the network with the aim of providing high quality, value-based care and improving health for the communities the network serves. Interacts and collaborates with all Service Lines of Wake Forest Baptist Health.
SCHEDULE:
- Outpatient only.
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5pm, plus on-call requirement.
- Full-time providers work 36 patient-facing hours, 4 administrative hours.
- Required rotating coverage for pulmonary consults at High Point Regional Hospital.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Medical Doctorate from an accredited university. MBA, MHA, MMM or equivalent degree preferred,
- Five years of progressive leadership experience including three years at executive level involving ambulatory practice operations, management, quality and patient safety, preferably in a large ambulatory practice setting.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:
- Board certification in medical specialty.
- Certification or advanced membership in an appropriate professional organization such as AAPL, ACHE, etc. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) if applicable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Exemplifies the WFBMC Standards of Behavior and Code of Conduct, while striving to identify compliance risk through department led risk assessments, system monitoring, and periodic audits, and reporting any identified violation to Legal Services and Corporate Compliance Departments. Ensure immediate action is taken on any issues identified through a self-assessment or by Legal Services or Corporate Compliance; that policies are developed or revised as necessary; and that efforts are made to ensure a positive and compliant work environment for all employees.

3. Through the direction of the Network Physicians board and the SVP Network Physicians in collaboration with the network leadership and Medical Directors, coordinate the clinical services of the network, outpatient and inpatient, with emphasis on Quality/Safety, People, Operational Excellence, Financial Performance and Strategy/Growth.
4. In collaboration with the SVP Network Physicians and senior health system executives and physician leaders, provide leadership for quality of service and clinical and operational excellence of the non-faculty physician network and medical group practices.
5. Builds and leads teams that show steady improvements in clinical outcomes and service excellence in the non-faculty physician network.
6. Works with senior executive leadership to facilitate operational aspects with an emphasis on performance improvement, productivity, delivery of quality care and focusing on the coordination of the network practices with faculty practices and all services provided within the WFBH system.
7. Establishes and monitors key performance metrics for patient safety and quality, and address patient communication, availability and staff and physician professionalism.
8. Works with fellow WFBMC system leadership, further build and manage the Wake Forest Baptist Health non-faculty network or providers and delivery systems.
9. Communicates effectively with the Service Line Leaders, keeping them informed on issues and operations specific to their areas of responsibility, and involve the pertinent leaders in planning activities and operational oversight as appropriate.
10. Oversees recruitment of providers and necessary support staff including assisting with compensation negotiations and facilitating on boarding of both providers and staff.
11. Oversees development, maintenance and adjustment, as necessary, of a compensation plan for non-faculty providers that appropriately emphasizes productivity targets balanced by quality and patient satisfaction goals.
12. Maintains personal professional development through active membership in professional societies and attendance at regional and national medical group meetings.
