ABOUT US:

Miami-Dade Corrections Health Services (CHS) operates under Jackson Health System (JHS) and serves approximately 5,000 patients daily. Patient care is delivered by nearly 400 healthcare employees representing a diverse multidisciplinary team of nurses & nurse support staff, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals. CHS supports Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation at 3 facilities in Miami-Dade County and leverages the resources of a large public safety net health system in the areas of education, quality, risk management & compliance.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Psychiatrist with demonstrated experience in driving positive outcomes in a patient-centric correctional healthcare environment. The incumbent will be a member of a team of psychiatrists and mid-level providers and LMHC/LCSW staff responsible for the patient care needs of the behavioral health caseload. Achieves the Behavioral Health goals and objectives for the clinics/center of responsibility. Ensures that all Behavioral Health services meet or exceed standards required by the Federal Department of Justice and State of Florida Licensure requirements and are aligned with NCCHC national standards.

Qualifications - External

Education

Doctorate degree in Medicine is required.

Experience

• License in the state of Florida as M.D or D.O.
• Board Certified or Board eligible in Psychiatry.
• Correctional Health and/or forensic experience preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
• CCHP Certified preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $260,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
