Remote working opportunity for a Project Manager- WebSphere Administrator to join IPS and become a key member of our production maintenance and support project. Ideally, you will reside in eastern or central time zone locations, however, candidates within the continental US, who are willing to support east coast clients, will be considered.
Position Description: As the Project Manager- WebSphere Administrator you will:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education. Candidates that have completed a Master’s degree program are strongly preferred.

Position Description: As the Project Manager- WebSphere Administrator you will:
- Provide deployment, administration, and operational support of production, staging, test, and development environments using WebSphere Application Server.
- Architect WebSphere cells, clusters, and nodes.
- Automate repetitive tasks through scripts.
- Configure and test production environments.
- Execute functions on the WebSphere application server.
- Develop firewalls and multi-tiered architectures.
- Architect, test, and initiate upgrades and patches.
- Support new application development professionals.
- Perform and initiate QA audits.
- Monitor application server performance and respond appropriately.
- Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide Tier 2 technical support.
- Modify and update technical documentation, create reports, and determine project requirements.
- At least 7 years of experience as a WebSphere Administrator.
- Experience with web-based applications, SOA (Services Oriented Architectures), and web application servers, e.g., WebLogic, and WebSphere.
- Competency in relational database structures and SQL.
- Experience with process documentation and documentation tools, e.g., Visio.
- Experience with UNIX system administration and TCP / IP networking.
- Experience using Java, J2EE, XML, SQL, and Shell / Perl Scripting in a UNIX environment.
- Willing to support east coast clients.
- Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills.
