Production Worker 2- Power Step Dept. 1st shift

Job Purpose:
Accountable for planning and organizing components and tools to perform efficient mechanical assembly of automotive parts and subassemblies.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL/MAJOR ELEMENTS OF POSITION

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials for work cell.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Perform Quality inspections - Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Trains and orients new line employees
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent certification
  • Two (2) year previous manufacturing or related experience

Working Conditions

This position works within a manufacturing, assembly and distribution facility. This may include working around moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and hot and cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

This position could require the ability to lift up to 50lbs and bend and stand.
