Job Description

The Production Technician will perform the necessary assembly and testing, including repairs on any operation within the production process to manufacture a product. Works from standardized methods and process instructions, product prints, written, and verbal instructions to define workmanship standards. Uses all electronic test equipment, tools and machines, hand and power driven, plus all gauges and fixtures necessary to perform the work task.


1st Shift 7:00 am-3:30 pm

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Requires a good knowledge of the mechanism tested and the capability to comprehend the theory of the operation.
  • Performs accurate adjustments or measurements, and must be able to convey the findings accurately when recording data, or creating other reports or documentation.
  • Responsible for checks to specifications/processes on parts or assemblies requiring further processing before being completed for use in Assembly.
  • Entry level knowledge of basic schematic reading, wiring procedures, soldering techniques, use of test equipment, and basic electronic troubleshooting theory.
  • Controls, disburses, and applies proper application of preservations on gauges where necessary.
  • May pick up parts from stock room and move completed assemblies to the next point in the process.
  • Checks produced parts per operation standards, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), and are is responsible for quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Assembles and tests various parts and subassemblies per process.
  • Troubleshoots tested product to identify workmanship defects, suspect and/or defective components and assemblies.
  • May be required to pack finished product prior to shipping.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of designated areas.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess ability to work independently and as a member of team.
  • Must be highly safety conscious.
  • The noise and temperature levels in the work environment are usually moderate but subject to increased levels of cold and heat during extreme weather events.
  • Must comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.

The Individual

  • AA Degree, Trade School Certificate in relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Must read blueprints, analysis sheets, and specifications.
  • Must have knowledge of shop mathematics.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of material.
  • Ability to safely perform work task physical requirements including but not limited to:
    • Sitting - Upper body held upright in seated position for sustained periods of time.
    • Ability to work at heights up to 25ft
    • Standing - Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
    • Kneeling - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
    • Crouching - Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
    • Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
    • Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs
    • Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position.
    • Balancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow surfaces.
    • Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
    • Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
    • Carrying objects - Grip and transport objects with the palms, fingers and arms.
    • Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
    • Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
    • Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned

Background-

This position requires a U.S. Personal Security Clearance. Applicant must be a U.S.
