POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing tire production related equipment. This role reports directly to the Production Maintenance Supervisor and is based out of the Les Schwab Production Center in Prineville, OR.

Swing Shift: Tuesday - Friday 2:30pm - 1:00am

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

• Perform preventive maintenance inspection and services and assist in handling maintenance calls
• Perform routine lubrication of plant mechanical equipment and parts such as shafts, motor bearings, sprockets, drive chains, gears and pulleys
• Perform general maintenance and welding on machines and other equipment

MINIMUM EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 2 years experience working in machine shop or related industry
• Obtain and maintain Forklift, hot work, scissor lift, and Genie boom certification (provided by Les Schwab)
• Strong mechanical background, including ability to read blueprints
• Ability to multitask, manage work assignments, and maintain a safe working environment
• Frequently required work in a standing position and to pull, push, lift, move, or transport product weighing up to 60 lbs without aid and up to 100+ lbs with the aid of a forklift. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop, crouch, reach and grasp.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment subject to temperature changes and some exposure to outside weather and environment
