The Principal Signal Processing Engineer will be responsible for supporting the R&D program needs for the analysis of digital sensor data produced by our experimental sensor devices, and working as a key part of the interdisciplinary team developing the sensor platform and applications. Primary responsibilities will consist of the development of algorithms for processing 1-D sensor signal data— including noise removal, normalization, deconvolution, feature detection, feature extraction and feature identification—and applying such algorithms to large datasets. Primary responsibilities also include performing analysis of data from specific experimental campaigns, to answer questions posed in the experimental objectives. The ideal candidate should be able to thrive in an extremely fast paced, dynamic environment, as part of a team of highly skilled, focused, and motivated individuals who believe in changing the world by creating disruptive technology.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Design and test algorithms for 1-D signal processing
• Implement algorithms in the processing pipeline
• Apply signal processing pipeline to sensor data sets
• Perform exploratory and descriptive data analysis of sensor data
• Perform analysis of experimental data sets to test specific hypotheses
• Maintain the database of experimental data sets
• Create reports on data analysis for company presentations
• Assist with software development for local and cloud-based processing pipelines
• Basic knowledge of network stack (CPU, NIC, PCIe, and related drivers) is a plus

Qualifications:

• MS or PhD level training in a relevant field, such as Statistical signal processing or advanced digitial signal processing, Computer Science, Applied Math, Electrical Engineering, or Experimental Physics.
• 5+ years experience working in signal processing or data analysis. Extensive experience with 1-D signal processing algorithms.
• Extensive experience with statistical analysis of data, exploratory data analysis, descriptive statistics, and data mining.
• Expertise with one or more comprehensive data analysis environments, such as MatLab, Mathematica, R, or SAS.
• Experience with signal processing of sensor data; programming in languages such as Python, Perl, Java, C/C++, SQL, MATLAB; experience with LabVIEW programming and data acquisition from electronic measurement equipment.
